Dongguan PM2.5 concentration hit a record low “东莞蓝”,上榜全国20强!
生态环境部近日通报了2022年6月全国环境空气质量状况。在6月168个重点城市空气质量排名列表中,东莞市居第14位。
On July 22, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment reported the national environmental air quality in June and the first six months of 2022. Dongguan's air quality ranked 14th among 168 key cities in June.
In recent years, Dongguan has made great efforts to find a way of high-quality development, becoming the city with GDP exceeding trillion yuan as well as a permanent population of more than 10 million. At the same time, Dongguan, as a major manufacturing city, has continued to pay close attention to air pollution control, winning the battle against air pollution is considered as the top priority. Dongguan not only promote the restructuring of industry, energy and transportation, but also deepen the treatment of sources of pollution, thus to steadily improve the quality of atmospheric environment.
Air quality in Dongguan has continued to improve in the first six months of the year, with the air quality index (AQI) of 3.27, an improvement of 8.1% year- on-year; the proportion of days with good air quality came in at 85.1 percent, up 3.9 percentage points from the same period last year. The density of PM10 dropped 26.1 percent year on year to 34 micrograms per cubic meter while the NO2 density declined 12.9 percent form a year ago to 27 micrograms per cubic meter. Moreover, in the first six months of the year, the concentration of PM2.5 hazardous particles was 20 micrograms per cubic meter, down 4 percent year-on-year and hit a record low.
Dongguan has formulated the plan for continuous improvement of air quality in 9 aspects:
Accelerating the green upgrading of industrial products;
Promoting clean energy consumption and reducing total coal consumption;
Accelerating the construction of a green transportation system;
Promoting VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) treatment in key industries and carrying out special inspection and rectification of oil-gas recovery;
Deepening the treatment of industrial furnaces and boilers;
Newly installing 6 remote sensing monitoring systems of motor vehicles and strengthening mobile pollution source control;
Improving the supervision system and strengthening the supervision of oil products;
Imposing refined control of diffused pollution;
Vigorously promoting science and technology advances to further contain ozone pollution.
Preventing and controlling ozone pollution has become a new challenge for Dongguan. With a focus on the coordinated prevention and control of PM2.5 as well as ozone pollution, Dongguan pledges more efforts to reduce the emission of volatile organic compounds. Moreover, Dongguan will take coordinated steps to further control multiple atmospheric pollutants and consolidate the gains in the endeavors to keep the skies blue, waters clear, and lands pollution-free.
